These cats are medium to large in size and have stocky bodies with deep and broad chest and short thick legs. Their short necks make it appear that their heads sit directly on top of their shoulders. The well-rounded heads of these animals have domed foreheads.

In comparison to other cat breeds, these animals are not more prone to illness and respiratory infections; they are rather hardy and healthy.
